Crescent Chicken - Canned crescent rolls stuffed with a cream cheese chicken mixture and baked for a super comforting week-night supper.

I first heard about Crescent Chicken from a co-worker several years ago. I love a good crescent roll, so I did some recipe researching. I made this one by combining several things I liked from other recipes.

Why I love this Recipe

⭐️ Kid-Friendly -It uses crescent rolls, which my kids love!

⭐️ Totally customizable –The chicken mixture can be customized. You could even do a taco seasoning version!

⭐️ Let the slow cooker or instant pot do the hard work! – You can cook your chicken with one of these methods, and then all you have to do is shredded it and make the filling!

⭐️ Use a rotisserie chicken – A rotisserie chicken would be great for this recipe too!!! Those pack a ton of flavor!

recipe notes

I love to cook my chicken in the Instant Pot or the Slow Cooker. Here are some tips on each method:

Instant Pot Instructions for Cooking Chicken: Place chicken in Instant Pot and season with creole seasoning. I add about 1/2 cup water or chicken broth. You can even add different flavor ingredients depending on what you are making with this. For example, add some salsa for enchiladas or tacos or barbecue sauce and onions for wraps. Set pressure to high and I manually set timer for 15 minutes. If chicken is frozen, I set it for 20 minutes.

Slow Cooker Instructions: Place chicken in slow cooker. Season with creole seasoning. Add 1 cup of water or chicken broth. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.

  6. Thanks so much for a great recipe! I made this for dinner last night and it was a huge hit! I have 4 teenagers and finding a recipe that they all like (as well as dad) is almost impossible, but everyone loved this one! I was a little nervous about using pimento, because I have never used it in a recipe before, but it really did add that extra oomph and I am so happy I didn’t leave it out!
    Congratulations on baby #4!

    1. Thanks so much for letting me know Crystal!! That is one of my favorite recipes! It is so hard to please 6 people, so I am so happy it went well! I felt the same about pimento until I started using it. You’re right because it does give that extra “oomph!”

  7. This was awesome!! I halved the recipe and pan fried the chicken instead of boiling for more flavor! This was a delicious comfort meal!! I will definitely make this again!! Thanks!

    1. Hi Laura! I’m sorry but I do not include nutritional information on my recipes for various reasons. The calories and fat in this recipe can be lowered by using low-fat cream cheese, low-sodium cream of chicken, and reduced-fat crescent rolls. Thanks for visiting!!

  8. The recipe says “Next pour half of the soup mixture into the bottom of a casserole dish.” But it never says what to do with the other half?

    1. Hi Sue! In the Notes section, I mentioned you can serve them with the leftover soup mixture if you’d like. Sometimes people like to drizzle a little of the soup over their crescents. Thanks for visiting!

  9. I am going to try this but with the already Roasted Chicken, I would then just need to debone it and use the breasts and thighs…can’t wait to try it!
