This Christmas Crunch recipe makes a big batch, and it’s perfect for gifts and festive snacking.  I mean we polished off a whole bowl in our neighborhood recently.  How could one go wrong with butter and sugar folks?  After all, it’s Christmas!

Christmas Crunch - Get ready for some serious snacking!  This sweet snack mix will be a hit!  It's wonderfully addicting and perfect for an appetizer and even a gift!

How to Make Christmas Crunch:

  1. Add cereals, coconut, and sliced almonds to a LARGE bowl.
  2. Cook butter, sugar, and corn syrup to 234 degrees.  You need a candy thermometer.
  3. Stir sugar mixture to coat cereal mixture and spread out to cool and harden.

Christmas Crunch

Ingredients

  • 5 cups Golden Grahams
  • 5 cups Rice Chex
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut
  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter

Instructions

  1. Mix cereals, coconut, and almonds in a LARGE bowl.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter, sugar, and corn syrup.  Heat over medium high heat until mixture reaches about 234 degrees.  It will really be foamy and bubbly at this point.  Remove from heat.
  3. Very carefully, pour over cereal mixture in bowl and begin mixing to coat cereal.  
  4. Spread out on wax paper-covered sheet pans to cool and harden a little.  Store in sealed container or plastic bag for a few days.
