I needed a quick meal that was also easy on the budget. We didn’t have a lot of time to spend on dinner one busy night, and this one was a life saver! It’s very quick, very simple. It calls for things I always have on hand. It’s also very budget friendly, and the kids LOVE it. Perfect kid friendly dinner. I served it up with corn on the cob as a side.

In reply to Shalei. Hi! Sorry for the delay! I have never used homemade crescent rolls, but that sure does sound good! Yes, I would increase the cooking time and spread them out a little to help the dough cook better.

Can i use homemade cresent rolls instead of the onea in the can? Also i will need to double the recipe for a big family. Do i need to increase the cooking time?

To make them even more delicious, try putting the chili on the bottom of the dish, then top with the crescents. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add about 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder and brush it on top of the crescents. Save some of it for after the crescents are cooked. Cover them with foil and bake for about 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking for about 15 minutes. Brush the rest of the garlic butter on top of the crescents.

Hi there, This recipe looks delicious. I’m thinking of only using 4-5 hotdogs, since there are only two of us, unless you have another suggestion. But, your recipe states “no beans”; I was wondering why? I have frozen some homemade chili that I thawed out and was going to use?
